Meet Our Team
Behind Singapore Sushi Stories are two passionate writers dedicated to documenting and sharing the rich tapestry of Japanese culinary culture in Singapore.

Sue Lin, Founder & Head Writer
A third-generation Singaporean with a profound love for both local and Japanese cuisines, Sue brings 15 years of food writing experience to Singapore Sushi Stories. After studying Japanese culinary literature in Tokyo and interviewing master sushi chefs across Japan, she returned to Singapore with a mission to chronicle the unique evolution of sushi in her homeland.
Sue’s articles have appeared in numerous food publications across Asia, and her literary approach to food writing transforms technical culinary information into compelling narratives accessible to all readers.
Hiroshi Tanaka, Writer & Cultural Researcher
Born in Osaka and now proudly calling Singapore home for the past decade, Hiroshi combines his Japanese heritage with his love for Singaporean culture in his writing. With a background in culinary literature and experience writing for Japanese food magazines, he brings poetic sensitivity and cultural context to our stories.
Hiroshi specializes in long-form contents that explore the philosophical and cultural aspects of sushi, helping readers understand not just what they’re eating, but the centuries of tradition behind each carefully crafted piece.
Together, Sue and Hiroshi blend their complementary writing styles and cultural perspectives to create content that celebrates both the technical craftsmanship and cultural significance of sushi in Singapore’s diverse food landscape. Their collaborative work aims to educate, entertain, and inspire readers to explore Singapore’s rich sushi scene with greater appreciation and knowledge.
